Charmin Frequently Asked Questions
Charmin FAQS (Frequently Asked Questions), from Procter & Gamble
Question: I really like Charmin Plus but I have trouble finding it. What can I do?
Answer: Stores are able to order any version of Charmin so if you can’t find your favorite, track down you store manager and say “I want my Charmin!”. If you want to shop online, check out various retailers’ websites. For example, ToiletPaperWorld.com!
Question: Is it okay to use Charmin to clean my plastic eyeglass lenses?
Answer: So, you put your glasses on and the world looks blurry. You’re tempted to zap those smudges with a little bit of Charmin. Although it’s super soft, most opticians don’t recommend using paper products to clean plastic lenses. Paper comes from wood. Wood fibers, even though very soft, may damage sensitive plastics. Check with your optician to see what is recommended for cleaning your plastic lenses.
Question: Is there any dioxin in Charmin?
Answer: There’s no dioxin in Charmin or any of our tissue and towel products. The pulp in our products is produced using Elemental Chlorine Free (sometimes called “ECF”) purification methods. This method is established by the US Environmental Protection Agency as a basic standard for the pulp and paper industry. The most advanced, government approved testing indicates that this bleaching method does not lead to the presence of dioxin in our fibers or products.
Question: Is Charmin safe for sewers and septic systems?
Answer: For more than 70 years, Charmin has been a reliable bath tissue, trusted in millions of American homes. Extensive tests show when Charmin is used as intended in a properly functioning plumbing system it shouldn’t cause plumbing problems.
